systematic theology...

in response to Jerry W's comment: :)
Yah, I talked to my old pastor, and he was saying how the flaw with systematic theology is that it breaks down at some point. It's that box that we humans try to understand God by...and ends up being limited/limiting to some degree. :P

How Great is Our God

...our human understanding is so limited!!  ...been thinking about God's grace...  and what our response to it should be... salvation doesn't stop at our justification through Christ, but it continues with our sanctification in Christ!  Thank God for His Holy Spirit!! -- where would we be without Him? ...

Romans 12:1-2:  1Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God—this is your spiritual act of worship. 2Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.

UCBCers...this should sound somewhat familiar!  (recall: Discipline of Grace by Jerry Bridges)

...also been thinking about how too small our view of God is...it really needs to get bigger...by a whole lot...

Man saves dog thrown from window

Thu Jul 27, 7:29 AM ET

A man was bruised but alive on Wednesday after a Saint Bernard dog thrown out a two-story window landed on him as he was walking down the street in the southern-Polish city of Sosnowiec.

The 110-pound dog was pushed out of the window by its drunken owner Monday, police said.

"The dog had a soft landing because it fell on a man," said police spokesman Grzegorz Wierzbicki. "The dog escaped with just a few scratches."

"The man was also more in a psychological state of shock than physically hurt," Wierzbicki added.

The one-year-old dog, named Oskar, was placed in an animal shelter while police investigate its owners for animal abuse.

---

...I don't know why I found this funny...I think because I thought it was a small dog until I read "St. Bernard" and realized it wasn't a heroic rescue (not laughing at the actual situation, just at my mistake)...poor dog...poor guy the dog landed on...bad owner...
